Women should dress decently in church
The dress code for all Christian women is to dress modestly at all times. This is what the Holy Bible teaches us.
A few weeks ago I was amazed by what I saw in a church. I noticed a young woman with a very short skirt and a low-cut blouse. She has been part of the choir for some time.
And I learned later that she had been warned by the priest about her indecent dressings.
But that morning, I was stunned. How could someone put on that kind of clothes and enter the church?
Her skirt was so short that more than half of her thighs were visible and her breasts with the kind of blouse she wore, could be seen.
Of course, there are people in the congregation who would be distracted. And surprisingly, she wasn’t even concerned about her immoral clothes. But that leads to the next conversation. What does the Holy Bible say about dress code?
The truth is that God wants us men and women to dress modestly all the time. And fortunately, there are Bible verses about dress codes that we can learn from.
These scriptures teach us to dress modestly at all times. We are children of the light, and therefore everything around us must show it.
“A woman should not wear men’s clothing, nor a man should wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God hates anyone who does this” (Deuteronomy 22:5).
“I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate headdresses, gold, pearls or expensive garments, but with good deeds, befitting women who profess to worship God” ( 1 Timothy 2:9-10).
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?
You are not your own; you were bought with a price. So honor God with your bodies” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
“On the contrary, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and think not how to satisfy the desires of the flesh” (Romans 13:14).
The church is the house of God and not a fashion center. It is normal to dress indecently in revealing clothes at parties, weddings and other social gatherings.
No one will ask you questions there. But why dress indecently in revealing clothes and sexy church outfits?
Do not forget that Jesus Christ is fully present in the Holy Eucharist. He does not want us to dress indecently in sexy outfits and revealing clothes when Mass is celebrated.
Satan, who never sleeps, uses women to tempt holy men. that’s how we dress every day.
You may have been taught by the women of the world that every time you leave the house, you have to prepare for a fashion show, a show that will show what you have and attract the attention of others.
While there’s nothing wrong with taking care of your appearance, beware of crossing the line and inviting male lust instead.
