Military spouses unite to foster community

FORT RUCKER, Ala. (WTVY) – A group of spouses at Fort Rucker bond through shared experiences.

The Fort Rucker Spouse’s Club comes together during difficult times and uses its camaraderie to help others in need.

In addition to fostering a community for military spouses, the group’s mission is to provide social and cultural camaraderie.

It made the people he brought together feel like family, helping each other through difficulties and struggles.

Club president Martha Boyle said: “That camaraderie, especially when people are deploying, when soldiers are deploying, you know you have that bond because family isn’t nearby, so you have to depend one another.

Part of the group’s outreach includes Operation Roll Out Your Dress, which provides free evening dresses to military spouses in preparation for proms.

“We enjoyed setting up the ship and we like doing it together, so it’s pretty neat,” said Stephanie Tucker, Co-Chair of ODYD.

Boyle encourages military spouses to join the group to find solace among friends.
