Dog Costume Contest and South Coast Botanical Garden Walk

The South Coast Botanical Garden (SCBG) makes sure this HOWL-o-ween is full of tricks AND treats! They invite you and your furry friends to an exclusive Halloween dog walk on October 30, 2022. So grab a leash, bring your four-legged friends and put on your best costumes.

Be sure to take a picture of yourself and/or your pup fully dressed and post it to Instagram using the hashtag #SCBGcostumeContest to enter and win 2 tickets to their next light show.

Located in Palos Verdes, this beautiful 87-acre garden is home to over 2,500 unique species of plants, making it a lush oasis. Now you and your fur baby can escape the city and enjoy all of its natural beauty. Remember that there are only a few places where dogs are prohibited for safety and precaution. This includes the Bohannon Rose Garden and Koi Pond, but don’t worry, you and your pup will still be able to enjoy the majority of this greenery-filled gem.

Code of conduct for Halloween dog walks:

  • Dogs must be leashed and kept with owners at all times while on the grounds, including parking.
  • For everyone’s safety, please keep 6 feet apart.
  • All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations and registrations.
  • To protect humans and fur babies, stay on designated paths and trails. As the South Botanic Garden says, “It protects all forms of life (plants and animals)!”
  • They also state on their site: “By participating in these special dog walking hours, owners take full responsibility for the behavior of their dog/dogs.”
  • Respect the garden and leave no trace. Please clean up after yourself and your pup. Doggy bags are available on site.
  • SCBG follows the Los Angeles Dog Park municipal codes, which can be found here: https://www.laparks.org/dogparks

This special dog walk takes place on October 30, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All halloweens, bloodhounds, pugins and all other four-legged friends are welcome! Check the time slots and get your tickets here.
