BIPOC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Workshop for Women

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts will offer an interactive workshop that will discuss a variety of issues focused on “assessing and revitalizing diversity, equity and inclusion practices”.

On November 9, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., join guest facilitator Daisy Pereira-Tosado to deliver this workshop which “focuses on organizations seeking to assess existing practices that can create barriers for women gender leaders. black, native and colored (BIPOC). ”

The goal for all participants is to leave the program with the tools necessary to empower, strengthen and reaffirm the foundations of gender and race equity within their organizations.

Guest moderator Pereira-Tosado adds: “For too long, women leaders and women leaders of BIPOC have been expected to survive quietly in a work environment that was not created with them in mind. It is time to dismantle inequitable systems and put in place the practices and structures that contribute to our success. “

This workshop will foster an environment for participants to examine, discuss and analyze policies that are inequitable or based on systemic oppression of communities of color. Some of the policies include recruiting, hiring, orientation, training, dress codes, work schedules and performance reviews. This workshop is for the women of BIPOC to have the opportunity to develop a leadership pipeline that welcomes all voices and assesses the institutional climate of their organization.
